An Introduction

The most awkward part of doing something new is starting—introductions and putting yourself out there. This is something I have personally struggled with for years and have anxiety about in almost any social situation. I am also a scattered person, hyperfixate way too often, and always struggle to stick to one thing at a time. This makes becoming an expert in anything almost impossible for me. What I do have is broad knowledge of many different things—a jack of all trades but a master of none.

The inspiration for this project comes from that anxiety and scatteredness. I want to commit to creating something every day. By setting a goal of taking a photo a day for an extended period, I hope to push past the “good enough” barrier where hyperfixation tends to end. I want to improve my eye for composition and color and create interesting images. To help reduce the burnout of pushing myself to do this daily, the challenge does not require any photo to be of a specific type, style, or subject. Low-effort, simple, quick shots are just as valid as those that take days of planning or result from trips. Additionally, I am not requiring myself to upload every day. All of this is to reduce potential burnout when I reach that part of the project.

Hopefully, there will be improvements, some interesting shots, or at least some laughs as I go through this. Thanks for checking it out.
